Structured Outpatient Addiction Program – SOAP  serves individuals 18 years and older in need of intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment.   We are committed to the provision of evidence-based treatment -  Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as the two major treatment modalities for the SOAP program.  Both approaches meet the client, both initially and throughout the treatment process, at their own particular starting point.  SOAP utilizes music, bio-feedback, art therapy, and role playing to personalize and strengthen participant engagement.  Treatment goals are to eliminate or reduce substance abuse, to introduce harm reduction strategies, to improve quality of participant’s life by helping them to develop a community for themselves, and to assist with a search for housing, to eliminate or reduce substance abuse through the use of the Prochaska and DiClemente Stages of Change Model, to assist participants in maintaining/improving sobriety by introducing participants to harm reduction elements through cognitive skills training, to assist participants in improving quality of life by helping them to develop a community for themselves that will include life necessities, and to assist homeless participants in improving quality of life by securing permanent and supportive housing for those who complete the program.

SOAP groups are scheduled daily Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:30 – 3:00, Tuesday and Thursday 10:15 – 1:00.  Access to SOAP is immediate:  Abstinence is not a prerequisite and arrest history is not a barrier to admission.  We have expanded our eligibility criteria:  The program is open to those having MBHP, Network Health,  and Neighborhood Health, and self pay.  Services may be open on a sliding scale as openings become available.
