Interventions

There's a Science to Feeling Good and There's a Science to Getting Better

ADDICTION INTERVENTIONS

An Intervention can be considered when a loved one, a friend, a colleague or a business associate cannot see the reality of the problems that are created as a result of their substance use. A tailor-made intervention involves family, friends and associates. The goal of the intervention is to get the addicted person into the best possible treatment as quickly as possible. An intervention includes an introductory session; a discussion on how to handle reactions; who to invite; the assignment of roles; letters; a rehearsal; treatment options; entry into treatment and follow-up.
