It has been said that there are positive and negative addictions and that almost everyone is addicted to something. Nonetheless when a constant habit like alcohol and drug use, internet and video game overuse, gambling that gets out of control or when relationship and sexual addiction takes hold it can be difficult to return to a healthier lifestyle.

The Psychological Center is in its 40^th year of treating addiction in individual or group sessions for people that range in age to their early adolescence to the elderly.

The treatment methods that we utilize are proven by science to be effective. We also cooperate with your physician and other providers that are part of your treatment team. Addiction is now accepted as a brain-based disease and a person who is addicted should not be judged negatively. Addiction is in the same health based category as diabetes, hypertension and other similar non-voluntary diseases. Most people begin using when they are young with inadequate defenses. The addiction may progress in intensity and stronger drugs may be used. There is hope. Beating your addiction requires effort.
